Who we are
This website is run by Secret Recipe Ltd, trading as It’s a Secret, Link Road Business Park, Unit 4, Ballincollig, Co. Cork, P31 V051, Ireland. If you have any questions about cookies or your privacy, email info@itsasecret.ie or call +353 21 428 9515.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. Similar technologies, such as your browser’s local storage, work in the same way. Some are needed for the website to work; others are optional and are only used if you allow them.
How we use them
We keep this short on purpose. We use essential cookies to run the shop — your basket, your account and secure payment — and, only if you say yes, analytics cookies to understand how the site is used so we can improve it.
We don’t use advertising or marketing cookies, we don’t track you across other websites, we don’t use your precise location or scan your device to identify you, and we never sell your data.
The cookies we use
| Name | Set by | What it does | Type | How long |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| wp_woocommerce_session_* | It’s a Secret | Remembers your basket while you shop. | Essential | 2 days |
| woocommerce_cart_hash, woocommerce_items_in_cart | It’s a Secret | Tells the site when your basket has changed. | Essential | Until you close your browser |
| wordpress_logged_in_*, wordpress_sec_* | It’s a Secret | Keeps you signed in to your account securely. | Essential | Until you close your browser, or 14 days if you choose “Remember me” |
| wordpress_test_cookie | It’s a Secret | Checks that your browser accepts cookies, so you can sign in. | Essential | Until you close your browser |
| pmc-favs | It’s a Secret | Remembers your favourite meals when you’re not signed in (stored in your browser, not a cookie). | Essential | Until you clear your browser |
| cookie_consent | It’s a Secret | Remembers your cookie choices so we don’t ask on every page. | Essential | 6 months |
| __stripe_mid, __stripe_sid | Stripe | Used by Stripe at checkout to process your payment and prevent fraud. | Essential | 1 year / 30 minutes |
| _ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics | Counts visits and shows which pages and products are popular. IP addresses are anonymised. Only set if you allow analytics. | Analytics (optional) | Up to 2 years |
Our partners
We share information with only two partners, and only for these purposes:
- Stripe processes card, Apple Pay and Google Pay payments on its secure payment page. Stripe’s cookie policy
- Google Analytics (Google Ireland Limited) measures visits — only if you allow analytics cookies. How Google uses cookies
Changing your choices
You can accept or reject optional cookies when you first visit, and change your mind at any time. Your choice is remembered for six months, after which we’ll ask again.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block essential cookies, your basket, sign-in and checkout won’t work.
Contact us with any questions about this policy.
